One of the most pointless signs I have ever seen. Right in the heart of Death Valley.
Right after this we saw a sign that I would guess is probably the most ignored sign in Death Valley. It said "To avoid overheating, turn off air conditioning for the next 20 miles."
We also saw many appropriately named areas like "The Devil's Cornfield." It was truly an experience and I'm actually glad that Jerry convinced the family to go along with this route.
We were surprised by how quickly the elevation changed from below sea level to 3000 feet in just a few miles. Then within a few more miles we were at almost 5000 feet.
Here is a photo near our destination for the evening, Mammoth Lakes, California.
I now have a replacement camera, so tomorrow's pictures should be easier to transfer to the computer. I have a few more from Zion National Park and the rest of today's journey.
